My parents have a seat altea itech 1.6 tdi dsg 2014. It's done 38k. The oil change light came on so my mum took her car to the dealership. They told her she can get away with a small service for £199. That was oil and filter and a check over. A big service was £299 which included Air filter and pollen filter. I've told her to go to an independent as that sounds expensive. Also when should the timing belt be changed as the dealership haven't advised that it should be changed. Thanks all.

Timing belt is due now based on its age. I'd go to an independent or a VW specialist, £300 for a service is daft, local places round here will do it for £160, my wife has the same car
