Hi,

I've just bought a 2011 Altea auto 1.6 disel. It has a standard FM radio and I would like to upgrade it a DAB with touchscreen (don't need satnav though). I've heard that VW units also fit. Does anyone know which types will fit straight in and into the wiring (excluding having to add a digital aerial)?

Might want to confirm it but I think the rns510 is what you are looking for. A few of us have bought Chinese imports for circa 300 with android internet units that are pretty good.

Macmusic and robbo are both quite knowledgeable on this one.

Most people have done it with one of these and you'll just need the fascia update which you can get easily from Dave at Sere in the dealers section of the site.

I bought the previous generation of this which has been really good. Takes memory cards for music, plays dvd's, browses the internet and downloads apps like torque. Mine was literrally plug and play as well which I've found really useful.

Thanks for your replies. Ignoring the plethora of additional features, does it sound at least as good as the unit it replaced?

Mine does, I had to play with the equalizer but I'm happy with it. Main thing is having the digital option and apps which are useful.
