Just a post saying hi - seems like the rght first place to post. I bought my Altea XL in 2009, pre-reg with 7 miles on the clock. Stylance XL, 170 TDI - perfect for the family. Since then, I sold it to my parents about 4 years ago, as missus got an XC90 and I got a small, fast thing.
Recently bought it back so I didnt have to make any monthly car payments, and bought myself a Golf Mk4 2.8 v6 4motion as a toy.
Hence - the Altea is now the daily runner for motorways and whatnot
116k on the clock today, and to be completely fair to it - it's still a surprisingly comfy car over distance and still has plenty of get-up-and-go to "move on" on the motorways as they say.
Joined here as while both of those facts are true, I want to make it a slightly more modern place to be Apple CarPlay for starters! Maybe some lowering springs to make it a little less wallowy on roundabouts.
Will be on the hunt for advice on these things, maybe see if people have based builds on Altea XL in the past etc. Not looking to change the outside though, and it will never be the main fun-car as the Golf will satisfy that so much more.
Looking forward to meeting nice people and sharing experiences!
