While scanning the site ive noticed a few people changing there cambelt at about 50k. mines coming up to 60k now and wondered wether its worth doin sooner than later?
Think the recommended change for these is 60K iirc, most people change before then for piece of mind.
60,000 miles or 4/5 years whichever comes first.
so if its not had one before its overdue to age alone.
Do it now if you haven't done it. If the previous owner said he had done it but there is no receipt to prove, then get it done also.

i used to work at volkswagen and on the golf we used to change at 60k or every 4 years seen a few snapped only a couple of hundred over that! depends how stressed the belt gets i guess. seen thousands that go over also. lol
