AM Radio Stations (UK)

hi guys

using the standard stereo unit, are others able to tune in stations on the AM frequency banding in the UK?

most notably, i would like to tune in Radio 5 (693 or 909MW) and TalkSport (1053, 1089, 1071, 1107 MW), but unable to do either...

FM seems to tune in ok, but not great, i.e. Radio 1 (which has a large frequency range) never seems to get great reception... so wondering if its down to a poor stereo unit in general?

thanks

No trouble with 909, not tried 693, talk sport have had no issues with either, and especially no problems with Radio 1... sounds like a loose wire to your aeriel from the HU.

thanks easty

is it easy for me to check myself?

never tried to stick my head behind the dash... but can you check without having to remove the entire innards of the car first??! if so, are there simple(r) guides to follow to explain what i might be looking for?

or is it something that an auto-electronics place would do for free/very cheaply?

cheers again, and hoping i can now resurrect five live for the new season!!
