I have booked in for some upgrades, Milltek Cat Back, 007p and Pipercross Panel Filter. I was going for a stage 1 AMD re-map but with the upgrades they will go straight to stage 2. I met a cupra owner there and he had a revo re-map done and now I am unsure which to get. ANY ADVICE?
Try and go to a local meet and ask to go out in forum members car as a passenger (hopefully you may be able to find one with AmD / Revo / something else).
They're all pretty good, so find a good independent who is local to you to support in case you upgrade further or have issues.
Had a revo map done just last week and i'm pleased with it but not had a AMD one. miles per gallon has gone up as well as performance. had mine done by JKM.
Having had both AmD on 53 plate car (top pic), and Revo (on 05 plate car below), personally I found Revo just felt a touch more dynamic. There is no right or wrong answer, just personal preference, it's as much about the smoothness of the map as it is about headline BHP, hence why it's handy if you can sample their handywork.
It's like choosing between a flake and a Galaxy ripple, there isn't much in it really.
Although only stage one im very happy with the AmD map especially as i got it with the discount from one of their open days, the 70 extra lf/ft of torque comes in handy too .
Id only go the revo if you want the functionality of those SPS switch devices as they do sound cool but real world id never use it.
For me it would have to be revo. Stage 1 software is aggressive and punchy, stage 2 has so much more useable smoother power delivery. But what makes them stand above the others is the sps switches. They make it so easy to tune on the fly, allowing you to change settings depending on conditions like ambient temps etc. There is also the anti theft function which i find very effective and useful.
