The best money I've ever spent on a car was getting my stage 1 done.

Simply drives incredible, so smooth and progressive, it was a big a difference as night and day.

they are good strong maps but i had x3 fault codes with stage 2 map and emission lights all over the place would clear them and they would come back after every drive so ditched it for revo stage 2 map been problem free ever since

Is there any other mods needed to go from stage 1 to 2 (I have a feeling I'm going to be told to go search)?

Oh well it was worth a try. I'll get searching then. Sorry to the OP for hijacking your tread.:)

Jason did you only make 250 bhp from 226 gs on your stage one? Thats pretty low really. Having said that i guess you made no more gs on stage 2 but they maxed the fueling to your gs and presto 285bhp + i really cant see our car making anymore than this figure on a stock ko4 as the air flow is maxed and you can only do so much with fueling. Glad your car is running sweet.

Hi Sam,

I logged my car just at the beginning of its problems, this was after MAF failure which saw the old MAF read 206g/s & new MAF 226g/s, the car at that point was running very strongly (albeit with surge) so I believe that the airflow reading was representative of performance at that time. However, after the MAF was replaced the car developed some other faults which were the CTS & five, yes five boost leaks appeared within a couple of weeks of each other. These were sorted (bar one which I missed) and things started to pick up again however it took me so long to locate these that the car had begun to 'learn' to run badly and therefore continued to underperform, with the missed leak also. At the same time I was unaware of the N75 slowly dying which eventually lead to complete N75 failure...I'll be honest here, I fell out of love with the car and work/personal commitments left me to leave the car in the garage and just run it now and again on local trips, this was detrimental as the car again set itself up to learn this. I reset the ECU via battery disconnect many times and although it clawed back some of what I had lost it wasn't 100%, so off to AMD for mapping to suit all the Stage 2 goodies. The car ran and made 250bhp, this was poor and it was expected to run a good 260-270bhp however a quick boost leak test revealled the issue and it was fixed but there wasn't time to run it again to see the difference and Stage 2 mapping started. The car took really really well to all of the mods and appreciated being leak free with new sensors, hence the power it kicks out today :). Month's of common problems finally solved!

I plan to log again this weekend to see what IDCs I have & G/S, the IDCs will help me decide whether or not to install the 4Bar FPR I have & trim in with Unisettings. Sourced a boost guage and pillar also so they'll be going in.

Ah i see. I got a little confused when you said you gained 40bhp when going stage 2, this gain was made by fixing a leak and adding software. I spose the leak could have cost you 20 bhp and alot of torque. So in real terms the stage 2 may have given you upto 20 bhp extra over stage one, this is good results as some companies claim 10 to 15 gain over stage one. Glad your happy dude, also i do love the look of your forge cooler, i want one but i would be wasting my money as my cooler is doing its job well, if it wasnt i would buy a forge cooler.

At Stage 1 (induction kit & 007) my car made 260bhp/299lb-ft, a second run on the same rollers months after but a hot day and it made 250bhp/280lb-ft, these were both when the car was healthy. A Forge TIP was added and I did my first road log on a cold night, this made 207g/s (circa 260bhp) so everything was fine. The car got older, sensors and hoses inevitably perished and I end up with some issues, so although the car had all this new kit on it, it couldn't really do anything as other things were wrong.

I'm comparing my 40/40 jump to the second, hot day, run as it was similar in temps to the Stage 2 (25c & 26c). Give or take a few bhp/lb-ft it has made significant progress and the smile on the mappers face said it all, you know when you have a goodun if it impresses someone who sees the same thing day in and day out. Now I plan to rip out all the old hoses and replace with silicone so it's done for good.

The Forge cooler made a massive difference, I even felt this when the car had issues but I can't compare it to another cooler as I've never tried one. There's a Forge (smaller cooler than mine) on eBay now...

Yes i know what you mean. Bill at badger 5 was very happy with mine when i made the highest figures from a stock ko4. This being 285 bhp and 305 ftlb. I was pleased when he posted a nice comment on my rr. I sometimes wonder if i actually make more on the road as this 285 was with 222gs on the rolling road but on the real road i can make 229 gs and with the added bonus of extra cooling, real road bhp would be interesting.

I bet it absolutely flies Sam, it would be really nice to compare the CC vs AMD actually but we live miles apart and Badger 5 is a good 150miles from me. I'll post up in the other thread that I created a few wks back RE: 4BAR FPR once I've logged again, we'll then know if there's anything more to be had :).

Another + for AmD. Fantastic customer service, some of the best i have ever received. Great smooth power delivery from the stage 1 map, the RR output was a little lower than i was expecting but no arguing with the way it goes on the road. I cannot wait for the funds to go to stage 2 :D
