When running Android Auto im assuming whatever you play on the phone will be played on the car speakers which is fine.

However I cant then control the music on my steering wheel which is really annoying, not only this when disconnecting my phone the music still carries on playing on my phone lol..

What do you do to get both Waze running and controlling music with steering wheel?

Can't say I've had that exact issue with mine, however I have found Android Auto to be somewhat spotty on this car whereas I had basically no problems with my previous car (a Golf GTE).

Sometimes it will be connected and working properly then suddenly say "phone disconnected" for no reason and it will refuse to reconnect even if I unplug and replug, I think restarting the phone fixes it but I usually just give up. Sometimes it seems to connect OK and maps work, but spotify shows an error "Spotify is not working at the moment" or something.

When it's working however the steering wheel media buttons work correctly, I don't use Waze though, don't know if that could interfere somehow? Though I doubt it.

Glad its not just me with the connect/disconnect issue.

I cleaned my port out on my phone since it was really bad, it did improve it but still not completely fixed.

I use Apple CarPlay with Spotify and Waze.

Spotify is controlled from the Steering Wheel and Waze runs on my CUPRA 300 (Non-Digital Dash) infotainment system with no issues.

Maybe it’s something to do with Android Auto?

I've tried both USB ports, and 2 different high quality cables (one of them the SEAT Cupra cable that came with the car) and still had it happen so I'm fairly convinced it's a software issue, don't know what I can do about it though except hope there's an android auto update or SEAT update in the future.

Lol! Was cursing my car today for constant crashes on AA.... new cable hasn’t changed things. Really annoying esp. if I’m following a route and I have no-idea when I’m next turning.
I've had a new infotainment system fitted under warranty with the latest software recently. No better in terms of Android Auto than the old one (which died...).
