Quick question, looking for a definitive answer please. Car is a 64 plate Leon 1.6TDI SE Technology with the MIB1 navigation unit, and twin SD slot unit in the glovebox. Is there any way that Android apps from my Samsung Galaxy phone can be mirrored onto the head unit screen without changing the complete head unit or other hardware in the car? Main app I want to display is the VAGDPF which works well on the phone via a Carista module in the OBD port.
Not wanting to change anything anlready there, but wondering if there is anything that can be added to gain this function. The unit already has a video input in use for reverse camera. I do not want to go down the route of MIB2 retrofit. Thank you

Hello, I have just ordered an MMI CarPlay,Android Auto box kit. Will be delivered today. Now that cost me about 270£ but an alternative Mib2 solution would be a minimum of around 500£.
I am really curious about the reverse camera as I also have a mib1 unit like yours with the same 5.8inch screen.
May I ask which camera did you purchase? And was there anything needed coding?

Hi, not sure what brand the camera was, as I had it fitted by a retrofit specialist...but I do know it had to be coded in. Sorry can't be more help
