annoying noise from my widscreen

everytime i use my wipers they make that horrible juddering noise as if no water...at 1st i thought they was working TOO well, but no...


they are brand new aero wipers from vw and have only been used a few times...
have some bosch ones on order and so sold them to my mate...and they wipe clear as anything on his car WITH NO NOISE/JUDDER AT ALL

i have cleaned the glass several times but they still judder even with his old ones on...ANY IDEA ON WHAT IT MIGHT BE?

i think possibly i may have some light bits of clear lacquer or something on the windscreen, and was wondering whats the best way for cleaning the glass as best as possible so i don't get that"judder"

i can't feel anything on the glass...
the noise is driving me made..............

If you want a very clean and clear windscreen buy the twin pack of Rain X from Halfrauds.
This is not the be all and end all but is very good.
With the solvent solution clean your wiper blades aswell. This will leave your windscreen as smooth as.....
You'll find you don't actually need to use your wipers if it raining and your over 40 mph, the water just rolls off the windscreen

if i have any lacquer on the screen will it get rid of it?
i was thinking of some kind of thinner,
ive tried cleaning it with one of those sponges with brillo type scrub on it, but still judders

Surely you'd be able to feel laquer overspray on the screen with your finger tips!?! I'd use meths or white spirit on a rag to make sure there was no residual oils present and then go for the rainX option as a last resort...

If that still doesn't work them maybe glass polishing - if you think that will cost less than the excess on a replacement screen which would obviously end up cracked from a stone chip of some kind

will try meths/white spirit...i have some wickes brush cleaner knocking about in the cupboard..will that work?
i also have some paint thinners? wondering if thats a little harsh?
can anyone recommend a good glass polish

The solvent that comes as part of the Rain X kit should be strong enough to sort it out. I think the problem is more with your wipers than your window. As said before try cleaning your wiper blades and see if that makes a difference. Thinners 'might' be okay but these can scratch if your too rough with them, better off with the Rain X, its made for windows

ok, so now cleaned the buggery out of the window with a glass cleaner(not a polish still need to get that) and it still does it, it appears it does it on the down swing...
brand new(fitted this morning) bosch aero wipers... so it can't be my blades...

seriously thinking of getting a new windscreen.....
mmmmmmm i feel a slight accident coming on, unless i can solve this

I was going to do the 'wee accident thing' as my screen was badly stone chipped but a crack saved me the bother.
I haven't tried it yet but extreme heat will crack your screen, #cough# like a blow torch #cough#

my aero wipers do EXACTLY the same thing! i tend to just turn the music up then i dont hear it juddering lol

one thing that sounds bizzar, but worked until i went through a car wash:

spray some WD40 onto a rag of some kind (misses best night dress ) and wipe down the rubber bit of the wipers. worked a treat for me for two or so weeks until i went through a car wash and same again now

nope.. it apparently softens the rubber think i read it on wiki or something like that and was amazed that it actually worked
