I've seen some talk on these forums about the 1.6 CR re-map becoming available, but I wanted to know if anyone's actually gone and had it done? And if so, where did you go and what sort of difference has it made?

SecreatWeapon what gains have you been told? Mine should be 140bhp and 280-300nm. I wont have a rolling road printout though as the company im using doesnt have one i think? But it was alot cheaper than everywhere else

I've been told 135-140bhp and 300Nm torque.

I'm having a rolling road print out so will share that once it's done :)

Cheers , IF you dont mind me asking how much they charging you? Im getting mine for £265 that includes replacing the security bolts that hold the ECU in place.

Ill get a rolling road done another time, Have you got any other modifications? I only have the piperX panel filter but may be getting an exhaust as the MK4 Ibiza might fit just have to measure it up

Yeah, £299 for mine including the rolling road print out.

There was no mention of security bolts, but I assume that's included if it's required to re-assemble the ECU?

Not all maps are the same. Some tuners will push the boundaries and put the settingthey change right on the tolerances to max the output but doin this puts strain on the components

I understand that, their FAQ states: "The process of ECU Tuning is used to optimise maps that run the car. The engine itself does not need to be touched and will still be operating within manufacturer tolerances." - plus they're advertising 135bhp on their website which is pretty much what everyone else is offering - nothing over-extravagant.

Here
Their figures for the 2.0TDi are high, quite a bit (15-20bhp) more than mine is.

Not saying they are bad, they may be very good. They aren't one of the more popular mappers and I have no idea who they are, so will reserve judgement :)
