Anyone had trouble with exhaust temperature sensor?

Are there no Seat dealers closer to where you live? Probaby stating the obvious here (so apologies if I am) but any Seat dealer can deal with warranty claims or servicing - it doesn't have to be the dealer you have bought the car from.
*UPDATE*
This morning the car decided to put the engine management light back on today. So back to Seati ts gone again!
Same fault as well. Looks like they just can't fix it considering this is the fourth time it has come on. And 3rd attempt at fixing it!

I would be asking for some kind of compensation to cover your fuel and time used during the previous attempts to sort this out.
They have all the equipment available to them and still they keep fitting parts until one of them works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Find out off the dealer the fault code stored on the ecu. I seem to have this problem but after it comes on and stays on i have a random misfire on all cylinders. Looked the codes up and the only thing common to both fauts codes are exhaust prrblems. 1. Exhaust valves burnt. 2. Catalytic converter problems including oxygen sensors. 3. Leaking exhaust maaifold seal.
Its come on 2 times now after running for 800miles between them. I can only assume its an intermittant problem because after the new software aad plug update ive not had a misfire like i normally would.
Are you consuming any oil btw or having any misfires?

Fair point there Deano. Although I'd be happy if they could just fix the fault.
Thanks for that info Lucifer. There is no other running issues though. And its not using oil. Very very rarely does a part regen. And never had the DPF light come on. So everything else seems fine.
The code is P282 (B)-exhaust gas temperature circuit fault.
They had better give me a reasonable explanation as to why it keeps occurring this time. Cos I'm not a happy bunny! lol

Skoda have bulletins on this issue, it's more to do with the routing of the wire if it's the third sensor.
Also worth checking they are changing the right sensor as it can get quite confusing. There are four sensors, but the second sensor is actually the lambda probe. What also adds to the confusion is the cat and DPF are separate on the Ibiza so if it's temp sensor three they need to change the one in the pipe between the cat and the DPF, normally a brown plug that plugs in next to the pressure sensor on the bulkhead.

Where are all the 3 sensors located in the exhaust and if you get a stage2 map, which sensor do they deactivate?
I haven't heard of stage 2 mapping myself on the diesel but there are four sensors in total
Temp sensor 1, before turbocharger is in the manifold or turbo body itself
Temp sensor 2 is actually a lambda probe, in the top of the cat or DPF depending on what configuration you have.
Temp sensor 3, before DPF, on Ibiza it's in the pipe going from the CAT to the DPF
Temp sensor 4, after DPF, in the exhaust after the DPF under the car.
Sorry for the confusion. Was referring to a tsi. Does it still have 4? And which one does stage 2 deactiate. If i had an oxygen sensor replaced, which one of those is that?

Looks to me as in the exhaust system just has lambda probes with heating both before and after the cat. Zillions of other sensors of course!
1.4 TSI turbo only version and 1.2 TSI are the same.
You need to read ssp359 which describes the dual charged 1.4 TSI.

I've had it back a week now, and all is going well. Looks like it was 3rd time lucky.
Seat head office have been terrible. I rang em to tell them the dealer were useless. They rang me back on Friday and asked if everything is ok. I said yes, and they said great-they can close the call now. Very disappointed, no reasons offered as to why it took 3 seperate visits (4 recurrences of the same fault).
Needless to say I won't be recommending Seat to anyone.
