Recently I have been listening to my air filter (Jetex one thats very popular) and the suction noise is soooo loud!

Whats bugs me is that if I can hear the suction then there must be some restriction going on?

I've heard that the Apexi air filters are very good for air flow while keeping the MAFM happy.

Anyone have any experiance as they are not cheap and don't want to be throwing my money away.

He already has a jetex.

There will be a noise as the air has to travel through the filter no matter what filter it is. The turbo itself will be making noise as well. The restriction (if any) will be the same (providing your current filter isn't the size of a oil breather) forget about possibly gaining half a hp and enjoy what you have. It will be money down the drain imo. people run these jetex filters with big turbos ect.if its good enough for them is it good enough for your setup

I totally agree to much is said about which is best filter , unless you running 300+ hp Jerez , simota, apexi , bmc , pipercross etc won't see much difference in gain IMO , if I'm being totally honest logs show more airflow with standard airbox and paper filter than Jetex open cone filter

That's some good advice, think I will stick with the Jetex and put the money towards a stage 2 map.

Current shifting about 174gm/s on vagcom so can't be that bad.

The apexi is the only filter I know of that has been independently tested and come out with a clear lead in bhp and filtration, the Jetex might be better but no one has done an independent test of yet!
