I'm taking on board why you are choosing this type of disc, so I'll respect that and not give reasons why you should stick with "standard", as you are like me a "Northern resident" you might find the road salt will attack them despite the phosphate coating, so maybe give the drilled version a miss if possible. Grooved discs will always be a bit noisier than "standard" but you will probable manage to live with that to achieve what you want, also grooved discs shed water better than "standard" discs, and we know it can rain in the West!

Many thanks for your reply mate! Some great advice there! Now you've got me thinking whither to ditch the drilled and just go grooved.

Running drilled and grooved all around on mine, have been for last 35k, not problems, in combination with red stuff pads and they've stopped me quite nicely a few times! lol

Ah, but you live in Southern climes, it gets very wet and cold and salty up here - all at the same time, and that is the difference.

If you pay MB AMG or BMW M Sport or Porker money for these parts then they must know how to keep them working.

Yeah admittedly the weather doesn't get quite to the same level, although bear in mind I live around Manchester, where it is forever gray and wet lol

Never had black diamond discs myself, but im guessing that the 'black' is just a coating and they will be shiny silver like normal after a bit of use?

Yeah it's just a surface coating, won't last long lol

I used Black Diamond discs back in '96 with my 5 GT Turbo. I found them to be ok, no problems from memory. Though I'd opt for Brembo Max Discs now with DS 2500 pads, it's a good combination in my opinion, tried and tested :)
