Was out last night and took a quick spin in by the weigh bridge.. with me in it, was 1180kg, which i think is pretty heavy, considering my mates 106 was only 980kg with a passenger..

had it rollin roaded at 165.1bhp so i reckon thats about 140bhp/tonne..

anyone else has theres weighed?

done mine on the scales but for life of me cant rememeber exactly what it was

2500lbs i think = 1100 kg roughly ?

thats with me in it and nearly full tank

Local haulage yards sometimes have them. Thats where im getting mine done (sisters b/f works there). They are also very accurate and weights and measures generally come round and check them unannounced so a reading thats no more than a few KG's out at a thousand odd is dam accurate if you ask me !

I looked in the doors this weekend to fix the electric window, and there seems to be a bit of excess material (side impact bar ?) plus the usual panels off that rectangular sticky stuff. I know the ibizas/polos/vag range have that heavy door feel for a reason...... to feel like its a quality solid build. I'd suspect that heavy feel is because it is indeed heavy lol.
Depending on how far i'm going to take my mk2 i'd definately get a before and after weight if I did decide to put it on a serious diet.

yeah i meant just compared to the others above! but might go back and have another try at it, incase it was a faulty reading

Mine is a 1995 2 Door GTI with a VR6 engine in it, has 17inch wheels and a sunroof and it weighs 1140kg. Thats without me and with a third of a tank of fuel.

I got it done at the rubbish tip, they have weighbridges.
