Have had rather an annoying time with VW recently.
It all started when I lost my locking wheel nut key for my Seat Leon. Seat being a VW owned company, we thought the local VW garage around the corner may be able to help.
After being shunted back and forth between parts and maintenace (Whose desks are opposite each other!) the jobsworths told us that VW ones are different and tat 'VW and Seat dont share parts'. Believing this to be tosh we set off to stoke on trent and the nearest Seat dealer.
They informed us that the parts are indeed identical between VW and Seat, but unfortunately had lost half of the master set for the wheel nut keys, although they were very helpful.
Returning to VW, we asked to just look at the wheel nut master set as we had a spare wheel bolt to compare it, but they refused to show us, the jobsworth went off to ask the mechanic and returned saying that Seat have lied to us (Gives you confidence in VAG doesnt it), upon which other staff members chipped in saying 'if they say they are different, they are different'. I pleaded to just look at the set but was refused.
Off in the other direction to Wolverhampton Seat dealership, who once again told us tha the keys were the same, but also the master set was stamped VW! They scoffed at VWs claims that the sets were different. They also gave us the key out of the master set (VW stamp again) and ordered in another one for themselves. So we finally got it sorted.
So, big up to Seat, but VW Stafford are liars, rude and lazy.
