Approved used standards - am I being unreasonable?

Bought a 1 yr old, 10k mile, Cupra 300 last week (main dealer). Since done 200 miles, and the oil light comes on. Go to put some more oil in and notice the coolant is under the minimum.

Now, if a car's gone through a 102 point check, do they not top-up the oil and coolant? Both of which would have been low.

Apparently not, they just check the levels are "satisfactory" (which I would argue they are not here, but anyway...)

I'm not looking to reject the car or anything, nor am I after compensation, I just don't like being bullshitted or being told something's been done when it hasn't.

Looks to me like they washed it, stuck it on the forecourt, and job's a good un... (also found the previous owner's rubbish in the glove box and storage areas).

I know, move on, move on, life's too short, but shouts to me like there's a lack of any prep here.

Or am I being unreasonable?

Nah my car had exactly the same “check” over 100 odd yet 10 miles after driving I had a check engine light which was a broken manifold, something that I highly doubt just so happened to happen.

There were quite a few different things I picked
Up on, however when I went back to have things sorted under my 3 month warranty they had no way not to oblige.

All in all I don’t trust these people as far as I could throw them so even if they tell you everything is tip top your better doing it yourself.

Not at all unreasonable.
That's really poor from a SEAT main dealer. Sounds more like what you would get from a dodgy old banger dealer.
At least you have 2 year's warranty left.
Hope all goes well in the future when you get over the initial disappointment.
You've bought a brilliant car which will bring a huge smile to your face (eventually)

OK, that's slack. But were the levels dangerously low?
We've just had a report of an AA pre purchase inspection that didn't pick up home cut springs that were loose when the suspension was at full extension. The AA said a pre purchase inspection was not a safety inspection. That's a new one on me.
It seems it's not only car dealers that are full of it.

Thanks. Glad it's not just me! Will ask for a copy of the 102-point check, might make for interesting reading .

I asked for it too, for weeks then eventually the list I got was absolutely pathetic, my daughter could of written a more comprehensive checklist. My consensus was they do a check of stuff then when it all seems ok they put it up for sale, hence no “real” report.
