Hi all I've had the APR stage 1 re-map done on my MK 3 1.8 Tsi Leon & the improvement is amazing.
Has anyone had the APR stage 2 upgrade on same engine or similar??
As it's only a further £ 90 quid
Do the brakes need upgrading??
Regards Tony

You need a downpipe and intake.
Not a huge difference between stg1 and stg2, but you will notice it for sure.
Thanks lentajaa
But I the thought the Stage two is inclusive of both. . but then wot do know. as I'm asking ppl on this forum if they've had the
Stage two upgrade from stage 1 which I've already had done?? Thanks Tony

Sorry, now I don't understand?

You need to get downpipe, to be able to update to stg2.
If you buy APR downpipe, stg2 update software should be included.
If you buy other brand downpipe, you need to pay for the APR stg2 software.

Yeah stage 2 takes into account the hardware upgrades that you need to install before the map.

Usually it's a 3" downpipe with a sports cat, as theses are the most restrictive parts of the exhaust.

Most people go for a 200 cell cat but some remove it completely and have a straight pipe from the downpipe, but this obviously messes with the emissions which will result in a MOT failure and of course it's illegal.

EDIT: With regard to brands of the exhaust, I don't think it will effect the pricing. Always worth checking beforehand though just in case. My downpipe and cat were from BCS and there wasn't an issue at all, I think as long as you have the hardware first, they'll just apply the map and hey presto.

Are there any bad smells from exhaust with sport cat? Or there is no difference in smell with sport cat and without any cat at all?

No I've not had any bad smells at all. Different smells from outside the car when it was first installed as it got more used and hot etc, but it soon went.
