Never heard a TDI make that sort of noise before.

To me it seems too loud to be from inside the engine. Could be a pulley on the aux/alternator belt, it does sound like an unbalanced pulley spinning.

Hi pal na, oil pump fine as it pissed all over my face when I popped the oil cap off when checking the cam. It's not loud when idle only when rev'd I'm so so gutted, I bloody loved my Leon. I don't want any other car. Thanks for your info and help guys. Please keep them coming.

But is it getting enough oil when it's revved? So is it silent when it's idling?

I think so pal, as it's throwing oil up when idling. No doesn't completely go has a slight tick when idles.

Thanks pal, no sob-story but have absolutely no money to get it looked at. Well it got me home 5 mile. May just limp it to Bridgwater scrappy.

Take it to a garage mate first before you scrap it! You'll only get about £50 for it!
Garage should be able to diagnose it in secs

Ok peep's how can i do this, I'm debating on just scrapping the whole car (saving time) or strip it for parts. Here's a pic of bits that may be worth something, could anyone tell me what this stuff is worth?? Also would a company pick it up after it's been stripped?? Many thanks guys. I know I'm driving this now Arrrr....

I would've been interested in the seats haha! Shame I live agessss away. Anyway you'd be able to make a decent amount of money from those, no idea about the pricing of stuff though

That looks way too good/clean to scrap - the seats, door cards and armrest are very tempting ... but my wife would kill me!

Have you found out what’s wrong with the engine and how much it would cost to fix?
