Once I have sorted a few small things (one of which I recently posted about) I am coming to the horrid conclusion that it may be time for my beloved to become someone else's pride and joy.

The petrol costs are soaring and with my wage not being the size it used to be guaranteed to be anymore on a monthly basis I fear for the worst and am probably going to bite the bullet.

I am currently looking around at mk4 gt tdi anniversary edition golfs as there seem to be a few decent remapped ones out there so at least I can still have a bit of speed and torque but not at the running costs of my Cupra. Insurance is lower and I reckon I could save at least £100 a month in fuel and reduced insurance combined.

Can anyone recommend any other decent tdi's around the £3000-£5000 mark that are worth looking at?

So far I have had a gander at the FR 1M, mk GT TDI Golf and old shape A3's

p.s. this is not a for sale thread, if I do put her on the market it will go in the appropriate forum

What about a Leon fr TDI or you going away from seat ? Could get a BMW 3 series for the £5k mark

I'm sure that first one was up for sale recently? Maybe wrong ask him when he brought it of you're interested

The second one I would budget for a clutch if it was me.
