Nice.
Lap timing isn’t allowed any more on the ring though, right.
Hope you have a few cameras mounted for the action too.
Be good to see a hot lap.

Cheers man, its coming together well. Didnt get the carbon fitted but theres always time after

I dont think its supposed to be timed no, plus the touristfarhten isn't stored in the solo, so will have to make the template on there.

Got 2 go pros inside so yeah I will get some footage, going to see if i can get the two merged etc but might get single ones posted on YouTube straight away

8:00.001 ;) - Car looks great!

Blyton went well for me on Saturday, only my second day and first with the car modified - here's a quick clip from the middle of the day:

Improved my technique and pace after that clip, but didnt string a whole lap together that actually ended up quicker than that one (couple that matched it) because of traffic or messing up a corner here and there. Also had a little off track event right at the end of the day - completely missed my braking zone for the chicane on the fastest section of the track, just went straight on through the cones instead. Beauty of an airfield day - no harm done :)

Would like to get a second set of wheels to wrap in some semi slicks next rather than running my road focussed PS4S's on track.

Nice mate!!

Love the dsg fart, almost worth a conversion i think

Thanks for the love of the car its been coming along nicely, all it needs us a engine and box building and can have a proper play on track with @Manic172 if he ever pulls his finger out and finishes his

It is a shame....a real shame..big engine build is the cost of a v8 m3 though.

That's a car I've always wanted, trouble is they make such good track cars its hard to disregard it

Took mine competing in abingdon long course sprint yesterday. What an epic day, started very slow making some good improvements through the day in wet conditions and exceeded my overall expectations. Car performed faultlessly with the new DS2500 pads working fantastically. Maybe not a pad for long sessions but fine for my level and one lap stints. Whilst it might grip ok the roll you feel in the bends impacts your confidence on a turn so thats one to look into for the next event. I already have a few parts to go on B12's, poly dog bone bushes and front poly lower arms but maybe need some ARB's.

Brands Hatch Tuesday.
Temperature that of an oven on track.
As a result, bit of power drain experienced.
All in all a good session.
Diff makes for better corner exits.
Impressed.
Oil temps through the roof.
Need a cooler.

It’s a Quaife diff.
No noises at all.
These don’t ever fully lock.
I can still drive with my slightly loose style, slight tyre squeal through corners but when I increase the power on the exit you feel the inside wheel gripping tarmac as the diff does its thing and then both wheels start pulling you though the rest of the corner.
It’s pretty effective .
Wasn’t sure what to expect.
There is a good difference for sure.
Car holds its line more with less understeer at the front.
I wanted to do time trials to see the improvements, but due to the heat the car was down on power and with the air con running too....... didn’t get a chance to really see how much time Id have saved.
On a cooler day I managed a 59.02 secs ( no diff) but think on the hot day a 1min 1 sec was my average. ( this was also with my concentration levels pretty low due to heat and other stuff )
Saying that I was averaging 1min 2-3 secs in the cooler day.
The 59.02 was a blistering lap that day.
I imagine with like for like conditions I’d have scrubbed another second plus from that time.
There is no sitting tapping your thumbs on the steering wheel mid corner while you’re waiting for grip to return.
It does hook up and keep moving through the corner now.
Very different.
Will have to return to Brands and Bedford Autodrome for more comparisons.
Think on a long track like Bedford I’ll be shaving 2 seconds plus.
Final thought.
If you can afford one and you drive the car to the limits of grip as I do and you’re used to spinning up though mid corner and exit then this mod is a no brainer .
@Nizza is selling his box with. Quaife very cheap.
Worth a look for sure.
