I hope this thread doesn't die like all the others I get involved in & sorry if you've read some of my ramblings on other sites

Anyway, got a brand new car arriving soon and hoping to prep it myself.

Will wash it then claybar (green)

What sealants/waxes would you recommend for the spanking new paintwork. Want it to be tough - only recommendation I've had so far is Collnite 915. Happy to pay for something that going to keep it looking great and protected!

Any advice or products you would recommend? Car is solid black colour, and I don't want the wet look - also the graft will be done by hand

Would appreciate guidance, and perhaps tips

for durability i say Colinite 476, its lasted 6 months + on my mums KA

Also for s good sealent, try Chemical Guys JEtseal 109. this is also very good IMO

I have Collinite 476, its not bad but wont buy it again.

I used Auto Glym Super Resin Polish, then Auto Glym Extra Gloss for the sealant. Got rid of all the slight scratches. Would recommend

Collinite 476 is the daddy get 3 - 4 months out of a single application, most of the cars we do have it on should be getting some Chemical Guys jetSEAL 109 soon and thats ment to be hard wearing too

Car is at the dealers and had my delivery date confirmed today, 20th July

tell them not to wash it before you get it as they'll put swirls in it. Use the 2 bucket technique to wash the car with lambs wool mitts and get a grit guard for the buckets too.

We use a Gilmour Foamaster Foam Gun too as this will breaks down dirt and reduce the amount of rubbing u have to do, reducing the chance of swirls.

Wax wise the collinite waxes are the daddy of durability, value for money anyways

The jetseal sealant is not want it claims IMHO. I applied this to the van around one month ago, and its starting to wear down already. In my eyes that would give it 2-3 months on an average car.

But, jetseal topped with collinite makes for twice a year waxing etc.

Solid black - you think thats going to be low maintenance? lol

As mentioned, get a snow foam gun and an exceptional wash technique.

If only black was low maintenenance!! But that's why I thought I's ask for expert advice from you all....want to keep it clean and protected as easily as possible for most of the time!

Black is low maintenance, the darker the car is the less dirt shows on it. Try having a yellow car!!

I reckon black is worse than yellow. Maybe someone else will confirm this?

It shows any imperfection, but its also the best looking colour when it is clean!
