Audi A3 Key

Hi All,

I don't have a spare key with my Leon as apparently it was lost when the guy who owned it before had new locking modules in the door.

I have managed to get hold of an Audi A3 Key from 2008 car (literally few quid) so it needs a new blade but already has the internals within the key.

Can this be coded to my car do you reckon? Or are they completely different?

Can give all codes off key if required.

if not - then I can easily make money back!

Cheers

Keys can only be coded once even if they are the same.

The remote part of the key can be used if it is the same has your existing one, check the number on them.

Think Audi keys are different to other VAG?
You can buy a virgin IMMO chip for about £9 on eBay and you need the SKC to program it through diagnostics.

However, my 55 Golf and 07 Altea have the same part number for fobs and when I made up a second remote for our Altea, got a remote fob from a Golf. That part can be resynced to other cars to operate the locks (as long as other factors match up), but as above, IMMO chips to start the car are programmable only once.

Honestly I'm not being an echo on purpose (unintentionally left pages open for a while before replying!)
