Without wanting to hi-jack this thread I think the audio system in my FR is fine my only gripe is the sh1te speakers! Mine plays definately plays .wma files although I hardly ever use the actual disc loader as my ericsson walkman phone (with extended memory) is almost always plugged in to the aux jack! Would be nice to still be able to search/skip from the steering wheel.

Has anyone done a speaker upgrade yet... If so did you upgrade all 8 speakers or just the big door mounted ones? Has it made a difference?

Ive got an 06 Sport and i think the sound system in the car is pretty good. I read lots of threads early last year that were saying how poo the speakers were but i can honestly say that they are pretty good to my ears!!

I have a '07 TFSI FR and to be honest the standard speakers in the entry level ibiza i drove for the day when they were repairing a scratch on my door had better sounding speakers.

I know choice of music plays a substantial role in how good or bad they are... I listen to trance, techno etc and once in a while some rap all of which put some strain on the best of speakers!

Yeah im more a Soft Rock sort of person (goes hides head under a rock)

I would agree that the choice of music does make all the difference - my gf listens to house/trance etc and she doesnt rate the speakers either...

Is this true, I burned a cd with wma files and the cd player would not read the disc, whereas it plays burned mp3 files no problem

I did another check yesterday and mine 100% definately plays .wma
Not sure whether the fact that I live in South Africa may have any difference, surely all the new Leons have the exact same spec audio systems?

I guess the simple solution is to convert your wma files to mp3 :p

Exactly what I had to do, plays mp3's no problem.
Looked in my manual and no mention that the cd player will play wma files, maybe it's a uk thing though:shrug:

With the crime in this place it would have made a great option! I have gone for the bullet resistant windows and armour plated body! 0-100km/h is down slightly (about 43sec) :D

Really though the big issue in S.Africa is hijacking and the cars most often hijacked is directly propotional to the cars popularity. With the Seat brand being less than a year old and the fact that I have seen less than 5 Leons on the road ever was the primary reason I went for the FR over the more expensive GTI, every 3rd car is a GTI here!

Did you fit the amplifier yourself? As I am in the process of checking out all information before this weekend as I am off to order my Cupra  , and want to know does it have the RCA outputs at the rear of the HU for the amp input or do i need more wiring such as an aux to RCA converter!
