Auto handbrake sticking

I had this on my 2017 1.4 fr.
It wouldn't move off the drive.
I went out on the motorbike then tried the car later, it was fine.
I've got the extended seat warranty so booked it in, the dealer couldn't find anything wrong.
Gadgets are ok until they conk!

Yes I'm an old phart, but what was wrong with having one of these instead of all this electrickery ?

Like I said gadgets are ace until they decide to play up. Tbf I had a handbrake cable snap once!
