auto locking

Hi, does anybody know how to get the doors to lock automatically after 30 seconds of leaving the car on a mk5 ibiza 1.6tdi. Reason being, I had the contents robbed from my car as i forgot to lock it.I know im a ****. Looking in the hand book under involuntary locking it say the car should relock itself if no door is opened within 30 sceonds but mine dont. Ive tried holding the lock button on the center console for 3/10 sec. Any thoughts appreciated

IIRC it locks itself after 30 seconds if no door being locked when you unlock the car not when the car is already unlocked, if you get what I mean.

Yeah you can't get the car to auto lock if you forget to lock it when you leave the car.

It's not keyless entry.

It will only re-lock if you unlock but then don't actually open any of the doors.

As above, the car will only re lock itself if when you unlock it, you open no doors (boot included).
