Think I'll wait for the TDI. Seat UK just said on twitter the 184 TDI should be available to order in a couple of weeks for the 5dr and SC.

*crosses fingers*

Syphon went over the Barcelona on SCN's behalf, so we will have another article in the coming days, and photos etc.

Unfortunately we can't be quite as fast with the turnaround as the dedicated motoring press. :)

I see that Autocar and Autoexpress share some of the same photos in their reviews. Does that mean that they don't have a photographer with them these days for their reviews?

I know SEAT provided their own photographer for this media event. So the photo's may of been from a selection taken during the day. I can only guess that the magazines don't take togs these days to these media gatherings. They probably just contract them on for features etc.

I know that Scott took his own camera to take his own shots, but also had access to SEAT's photographer too! Aiming to start looking at the article tomorrow on my day off, he likes me to do the sub-editing. ;)

This isn't the same 7-speed DSG that they tried in the Ibiza is it?
Because that one seemed to be quite unimpressive and relatively unreliable.

Hopefully it's an improved version of the 6-speed DSG

Thanks Mark. That would make sense really. Cheaper and more manageable for all concerned. I look forward to reading Scott's article.

In my country's pricelist it appears as a DSG7:

From what I'd read its the same standard VAG 7 speed DSG gearbox, whether they've resolved the issues I'm not sure.

They are on a highway to hurt if they haven't resolved them, thats for sure. The higher torque models such as the dervs are more likely to use the 6 speed DSG.

However where that leaves the 1.8 TSI I've no idea at this time, but if its the 7 speed dry box pushing much more power it will likely be problematic if anyone decides to fettle too much.

According to that article the 1.8TSI is producing 184lb/ft at 1500-2750rpm which is fairly similar out of the box torque figures to the Ibiza Cupra/Boc's 1.4 is memory serves? (happy to be corrected)

Yes those are the standard press shots we were given on a USB card.

I bought a new camera last week so was keen to take some of my own shots.

Still sorting them out for the feature, but here's one for now:

Very nice Scott. That is the best shot of that colour that I have seen. All the other look rather washed out. I'm looking forward to reading your article.

I was supposed to be going to Malaga but couldn't make it due to work commitments

That colour is amazing! if i do get a MK3 its going to have to be that colour

Looking forward to your article too Scott. The more I see this car the more I am keen to get one. Good thing I am waiting till the cupra comes out. If the prices are too high however on the cupra I may settle on a 1.8tsi as INA are busy making some nice bolt on toys for this engine

I seem to be alone here but Im not a fan of the colour. Which I suppose is why they bring out a healthy selection of colour options :) hehe

It reminds me of a colour a ganny would choose

I agree, not too keen on the blues. I've never really liked any shade of blue on any generation of Leon but maybe thats just me.

Best pic I've seen of the new blue, but personally I wouldn't go for it.

I think it works amazingly under those endless blue skies in Spain, but in an urban environment its a bit in yer face really. Some colours suit their surroundings better than others. At least it isn't a hot pink. :)

I think lairy colours will work quite well on the mk3. The solid red is probably my favourite of the currently available UK colours, but I do like the lime green from the other thread.

And I hope they do a yellow one. If I get a mk3 I want it to be yellow.
