Automatic braking in reverse?

Hi. I have a facelift 2017 Leon ST, which gave me a shock this morning.

When doing a fairly swift three point turn outside my house, and reversing up a small incline drop kerb, the park pilot's rear sensors interpreted the slope as a solid object and starting beeping constantly.

I carried on as I could see from the reversing cam and mirrora that the way was clear. At this point the car decided it knew better and slammed on the brakes - giving me an adrenaline rush, thinking I'd hit something!

I'm aware my car has front-assist radar to help prevent frontal collisions (not that I've experienced it), but can't find anything in the manual about the system working when reversing - it seems that it does however, using the normal parking sensors.

Anyone know about the functionality of this, I'd like to better understand how it works to prevent any more shocks in the future!

Thanks.

Braking while manoeuvring function*

As soon as an obstacle is detected while reversing, the braking while manoeuvring function activates the emergency braking. Depending on the equipment, the braking while manoeuvring function can also activate emergency braking while moving forwards.

Can be de-activated in menu

On a positive note, one day it will cook you a full English on the way to work! [B)]
I look forward to the day

Further more though the car does have a safety feature called automatic post collision braking system

What about an option that brakes the car that's reversing into you? - and slashes their tyres and puts salt in their coffee!

Unfortunately enough these aren't options Seat invested in enough yet.

Guaranteed to happen my 290 got reversed into 6 months from factory order. I saw it and the bitch lied when I saw it happen 2 police cars later and being called a drug dealer and everything else she was found to be guilty.

It went to an Audi garage £2400 claim straight at her insurance for a 3 inch scratch made my year bought a dash cam for £500
