AUX broke?

unless im mistaken or doing it wrong, i think my AUX in jack is broken somehow.

i have the CD/MP3 player in my mk2 FR and i definately do not have the USB or IPOD connector...

I put a CD in and the screen says either CD or MP3CD and plays away happily

BUT....

If i try to press the CD/AUX button again, nothing happens. I have tried connecting my MP3 player and starting it but it wont override the CD, i have also tried without a disc inserted, again, no change in display, no recognition to AUX.

before i take my car back, is there anything i may be doing wrong?

cheers.

Isn't there a setting in the radio somewhere to turn the aux on or off? I think if you press the prog button on the radio I seem to remember seeing the option to turn the aux on or off.

Press PROG button
Then press bottom right hand (of six) round buttons under ">"
and 3 more options to set appear.
Select "aux" (4th button under from left) to set "aux in" to "on" or "off"
Use < or > above volume knob to do this

Once "Aux" is set to on, which is permanent, select "aux" as source insted of Radio/Cd etc.

Once an auxilliary device is connected you can adjust the aux input level by selecting the
1st button under ""auvol" and using the volume knob.
