Aux heater not working

Hi, please be careful as not only am I new to this forum but also a woman.

My aux heater only works when it wants to and we also have a fault that says

18080 coolant fan control
1: open or short to ground

P1672-35-10 Intermittent

Vag No: 038 906 019 FC

Component 1,9I R4 EDC G001SG 1455

I have absolutely no idea what any of this means so if there is someone out there that does Please Please Please help me.

as a parts manager, i can suggest the common stuff. first the heater control panel in the car gives bother, especially the digital climate control. if the aux heater is noisy its scrap, if its smoky you can replace the glow plug in it - part costs about £25. the heater can be disconnected if you just pull off the plug. give me a shout if i can help. . . .

Thanks very much for your response, the heater is definately smokey, I thought the car was on fire originally when it did it. Anyway thanks again and will definately contact you if needed in future with this problem.
