hi guys, whats the script with the aux in jack plug, can you use a standard mp3 player and a lead with a 3.5 jack on each end or do you need a special adapter???
You can plug in any audio source that outputs via a 3.5mm socket, most likely a mp3 player or phone. Hit the Media button on the radio and select AUX to use it.
hi again tried that with the cable above but nothing coming through, when i got the car it had the ipod cable adapter and dock fitted in the glove box, could this be conflicting with the jack plug or could the jack have been disconnected for the ipod or do they connect independantly
have you switched the media source from the radio?
maybe i missed something but if you have the ipod dock in the glovebox why do you need the 3.5mm jack? ipod option as far as i know from mine is a split y cable that goes in to the jack AND usb.
if you plug an audio device (e.g ipod) from the headphone jack with the cable above, selext AUX from the audio menu and you get nothing, then you may have a problem. The car speakers are essentially one big set of earphones
ipods gone walkies mate(kids)only god a mp3 player to hand and just wanted to see if i could get it working,i thought it would be straight forward lol,my ipod cable thats fitted isnt just a jack connection its a full ipod clip thats been wired up the back of my dash presumingly to the head unit
now that is weird. is your AUX jack by the cigarette lighter or in glove box too? i doubt they'd put it there if you couldn't use it - stranger things have happened though.
Sounds like someone has fitted an aftermarket iPod adaptor which may have disabled your AUX input in that case. From the factory they either have the AUX input or CUP (Combined USB port), the glovebox cable isn't original.
