When you connect your phone through the aux socket can you use the steering controls to skip through songs, do you have to use the cd player unit to do it, or is it all through the phone?

when you plug standard headphones into your phone can you skip tracks?? - NO

Therefore same applies to the car aux socket.

The Aux socket is just a line in - it's one way, sound only.

If you want to be able to skip tracks and navigate etc, you need an iPod connector, and an iPod.

Or some other headunit with an interface - USB ones are becoming more common.

Just wondered. I have quite a few songs on my phone so I was tempted to buy the connectors.

Why not buy them anyway - it's only a couple of quid and quite handy when you get bored of the CDs in the car

Just fill a couple of CD's with MP3?

You can get a stack of albums on each disk, navigate with the wheel buttons, and not need to worry about getting your iPod nicked.
