Awesome GTI Clutch - £625 and worth every penny!

Well if it works well on mine when its got the big blower on it, prove that they're overpriced...
Well I shall be fitting mine within 2 weeks hopefully, and getting it mapped by bill within a month. So I will keep everyone posted.
I think more the obligation of yourself would be to order wise advice yes, but not dictate or bigot to others,
I agree with not being fed bullshit by people, but let people find out for themselves, I'll give you a bit of toilet paper to show me how to wipe my arse for me as it'll be obvious im doing it wrong, why not just let me get **** on my fingers and find out for myself!

Going to contribute with my thoughts on the Awesome clutch option. Sorry for the long post in advance.
When my clutch started to slip started researching options. The hardest bit is trying to judge whether the flywheel would need doing however I didn't risk it and just got it all changed. The car is a Leon Cupra R running stage 2 power and used as a daily driver. On top I like to use it how it's suppose to be used, 1/4 mile runs, couple of track days planned for 2012 which is why I needed something a bit more durable than the OEM setup.
An option would have been the LUK dual mass flywheel and Sachs performance clutch which I was finding for around £600+ for the rigid friction plate and pressure plate.
Other options which were getting raved about were the uprated Southbend clutches which work with the LUK DMF.
Alternatively there was the single mass flywheel options. The obvious concern with these seem to be the noise factor. It chatters on idle. On the opposite side of things the car will rev more freely so revs will increase quicker due to the lighter option of the SMF however revs will also drop quicker which comes to another concern when it comes to gear changes and keeping the revs up. Nonetheless the options I felt best suited my needs for the SMF route were:
Finally the last option I started looking at the newly put together kit from Awesome GTI.
When I spoke to Al at Awesome he gave me a lot of reassurance with this kit. There are three bonus sides to it also:
I looked around online to find those with the same kit but couldn't find any LCR owners at the time. I did however find several others who were running these on highly tuned cars. I decided to take the punt and go for it and I am so glad I did.
Great bit of kit, it has taken everything I have thrown at it so far and as mentioned previously I do like to give it some beating No chatter, minimal vibrations when trying to get going at very low rpm but that is it.
The one thing I did notice when research for clutches is the amount of advice from those who's mates are running a set up. I personally don't think it is a good idea to make statements unless I personally have experienced the product etc. Good luck to anyone looking to change clutches, but if your needs are similar to mine then I would recommend looking into the offering by AwesomeGTI

To be honest mate I don't feel a massive difference in the revs picking up and dropping like some say but you can sense it revving more freely. The only issue is that my clutch was slipping and I got use to the car driving like crap so the difference when this one was fitted felt immense. It does everything I need and want it to do which is why I am especially happy with it and the customer service from Al in particular at Awesome GTI has been truely great

I have found information which states that Techniclutch use generic pictures of their clutch sets on their eBay adverts, and so the clutch kit pictured for the Cupra R would not be the one received, that's why the clutch kits don't look the same on the pictures:

Also, another person on the Audi TT forum www.ttforum.co.uk says he thinks the Awesome kit looks like a Techniclutch kit, so that's several people from multiple forums all posting independently that think it looks like a Techniclutch:

Give it a rest? You seem to be out to have a dig at awesome gti in my eyes. Can only hope the mods see it this way as well. Awesome have a fantastic reputation and any dealings I've had with them have been spot on!
