Hi Guys, long time no speak, brazil was awesome for those that remember me trying to sell my car before i left!
Anyway i have returned and my car has been in dry storage for nearly 2 months and the following faults had occurred;
rubber nipple on brake fluid reservoir had perished and the brake warning light was on - cost to fix £5 from scrappy
Rubber grommet on accelerator cable persihed, causing excessive slack in throttle cable, suffocating the engine and cutting out on idle - cost to fix £0 zip tie and 20mins of head scratching
Flat battery - fixed
two low pressure tyres - fixed
windscreen wipers have begun to catch on each other - fixed
Same central locking as Flapper - my air pump in the boot does not operate, it was a bit wet and looks/smells likke it has burnt out, so i think i need to go back to the scrappy! cost to fix £??
Now this is the only fault i have not fixed...ABS light now on permanently! its been tempremental for a year or so and the ABS works perfectly when the light is not on, but now the ABS does not work and the light is on... seemingly for good.
I took it to a VAG sepcialist in Cardiff and had it plugged in to a snazzy SnapOn Diagnosis machine thing to see which ABS sensor had gone, but it came back with the following fault;
The ECU was reset three times and it went away, a day later it came back. They had not seen this code before and they could not locate it in their Code bible.
Has anyone come across this code? how can i fix it, an MOT looms in March and i am worried this may be beyond a DIY repair.
Seriously people, dry your car as thoroughly as possible before storing it - do not wash it and then store it as i did. nightmare. thanks for your help.
