I got that effect on my old mk2 red ibiza...someone sprayed some insect cleaner stuff on it after being told not to spray it on my car because it would cause that. Something to do with the paint not being the same as newer cars?? not really sure but it was a right arse to get out.

I use Autoglyms Intensive tar remover, put it in a spray bottle and diluted slightly and spray it on...leave for 30 secs and then wipe off. It works a treat and is not damaging to the paint at all

thats the only autoglym product I really do rate and one that works very well.

if you dont have the choice of a spray bottle then simply dab a bit on some old cloth and apply with a bit of pressure to where the stuck on bug is and it will come off in seconds. Then wipe with a clean cloth to get any excess residue off:D

I use a great bugs thing, but I dont use as directed cos it makes a mess that hard to get off!

It reckons you wash and wax car, then spray this stuff on..then scrub off... well I tried it once and NEVER again! Now, before I even rinse the car off, I get a stool, (hehe) a soft cloth, and spray this bug stuff on the cloth and rub away all the bug guts, its superb stuff....
