Well it's been a busy couple of week with one thing and another.

Spent a rediculous number of hours last weekend working on someone else's leon which is all done and out of the way.

As Tim has put in his RR we've managed to secure a bit of space in a unit or MANCAVE which is awesome as we can both work whenever we want with that, and lets face it any petrol head simply has to have one at some point :)

After spending a few hours trawling over my car I've come to the conclusion that something isn't right, I'm losing a little oil, I always have done ever since owning the car but after closer inspection ive come to realise its leaking everywhere. The sump won't seal to block, it's leaking a little bit from the head gasket and it leaks for the head as well as the oil cooler housing etc. on this I think the block is slightly warped so its going to be engine build time before long....however....me and the misses have just set a wedding date so I need to work out how to spend money on rods etc and keep her happy!

That's it for now :)

Small update:

I've had niggly problems building up over the last few months and today I set about sorting them all with the help of Tim.

I replaced the ABS sensor that failed on the 30th October!
While doing so realised the pads were well overdue changing so fitted some new ones that I happened to have to get me by, this alone turned into a nightmare as 2 of the pad retaining pins were seized! :( this got worse when I checked the discs out and realised they also need doing!
I checked the lower arm bolts as I have a small knock ocassionally.

Finally Tim spent a few hours doing all 4 of my door seals and vagcoming his way through my fault codes, as well as checking my oils and fluids while I was putting the wheels back on. (Thanks mate) :)

I've got a few small things left to do but the major work is done :)

Good work mate :)

Discs and pads on the rear of mine are well overdue. Going to change the fluid also. What do you guys go for? I did run Motul RBF660 last year which I still have now but might try some ATE dot 5 this time.

I've been running the motul stuff for years and always been fine so think 'if it aint broke....'
With rears ive got pagid pads with grooved discs, but barns will vary as he still has the 232mm cupra setup

True, on the fluid. And also the Motul did well on track last year. Will sort it next weekend just wanted to see what you guys run.

On the rears I will be going pagid OEM stuff for sure I doubt grooves. Yeah no worries re Barns rear brake setup.

I'm sure Barn will upgrade to 256 rears once the old ones are shot, however im trying to persuade him that being as the fronts need doing may as well go bigger
Thats my plan, soon as my 330mm rotors are finished and dependant on info im trying to acquire from certain companies my complete front setup will go

As Tim said I'm still running the baby rears but will be upgrading when they need doing. I've fitted pagid pads to the front today and with no track days planned this year due to the costs of the wedding they will suffice. After looking into the brakes, like Tim, I've decided to run these discs to death by which time the car will be coming off the road for an engine rebuild anyway so ill be investing in some kind of monster stoppers for the future. :)
Long term mine will be a weekend/track toy so it'll be something silly that stop on a six pence.

It's not me you need to persuade.......it's Sarah ;)

And another thing done.

Finally got my LCR undertray fitted this evening, I've had it since phill broke his leon so it's been a while!

While I done that Tim fitted a new rocker cover gasket as mine has been leaking like a siv for months! :)

Then proceeded to pop 2 coils packs out and blow a boost hose off the turbo on the way home[:@] pissed off was an understatement!

Well done 500 miles in the leon over the bank holiday. Been a while since it had a proper run and quite enjoyed it to be honest. Would've been rude not to get some bank holiday snaps too.
