My Battery light on dash has illuminated twice in total.
First time was 2 weeks ago when i was really giving it some, it came on as i braked hard for a T junction. It came on and went off for no more than 2 seconds, it then stayed off.
Today driving home from work on dual carriageway pulled out to overtake and it did the same, popped up for 2 seconds max then went off.
Car doesnt feel any different, and i didnt investigate further after 1st incidence as it didnt do it again.
Just checked manual and it says its the Alternator warning lamp.
"if comes on although the v-belt or ribbed belt is not broken or loose, one can drive on to the nearest technical service centre"
"if warning lamp lights and the belt is loose or broken DO NOT DRIVE ON-the coolant pump is no longer being driven. The belt must be checked or renewed"
Had a quick gander at all belts and nothing is slack or loose or worn. Could anyone direct me to the particular one??
Anyone had any experience of this?
Would this be a sign to replace the cambelt/waterpump/impeller etc?
Cheers
