Battery life

Hi all.

I was just wondering what the average life of the car battery.

I've had the car 8 years never changed the battery. And the lady before me never replaced the battery. So as far as I can tell it's still the original.

I think it's showing signs of failure as I'm having problems starting it.

Mine is an 04 plate and made it to 2015, so 11 years.

Take the battery cover off and measure the battery length,depth and height, ECP should have their battery dimensions in the details.

After a few days of slow turnovers in the mornings I got my battery tested this morning. Came up with 'bad and replace', so thats what I have done. The car starts very well now
The central locking still groans when I lock the doors, and I was hoping that was down the battery as well, but maybe that will sort itself out once I have driven some miles and fully charged the new battery
