just fitted a new turbo on my car and now its making the same noise as the old turbo ( compressor wheel catching the inner inlet housing) so it looks like the turbo is not getting any oil and bearings have gone as it does not smoke atall but does not boost either.

does anyone have any links to places i could get a rebuild kit from for it ? and also would like a bit of info on possible causes of why it went as ive not had the best of luck doing this car i thought id ask here first before i start tearing into it again

Would probably be cheaper to buy a new chra than get it rebuild. The bb turbos are a pain to balance. Owens, TT, TD etc can fit the motorsport metal framed beaings into the turbo, but that isnt cheap.

Have you made sure the oil feed and drain isnt blocked?

after searching through quite a few sites and numerous phone calls to try and get a turbo for my car ive come accross this http://www.gt3turbo.com/Merchant/product.php?productid=12&cat=332&page=1 and thought it would be a good upgrade as i already have the turbo (all be it very dead lol) but not enough money yet for the brand new 1. the exhaust housing is still good on mine and i have the upgraded forge actuator to.

so has any1 used this company before? so that i can get some recomendations before i part with my hard earned cash.

any help/advice gratefully taken

cheers gaz

They have been selling through ebay for a long time but that website is new. I spoke to them a few years ago then decided to not use them for various reasons. I posted about it in another thread on here as Im sure somebody else asked about them. HAve a search and it'll pop up im sure.

think i know what it is on the gt30 when i fitted the pipe i assumed it would fit being a gt30 i thought it was 3" inlet but on the turbo its 2.5" inlet so i am still running 3" maf and inlet to the turbo and i can hear like a screaching noise when i rev it and sounds like air getting in and from looking back now it went on easy compared to the other pipe so im going to get a reducer for that on the weekend and go from there.

pj1985 ill try looking for that old thread now but what were the reasons for you not wanting to use them? the core that im thinking of getting is brand new and only needs the exhaust flange replacing so saves me about £250 all in so will probably lean more towards that.

When fitting any turbo

Most people unplug the coil etc.. so that you can crank the engine without the engine starting etc... to make sure that oil is is coming out of the oil feed pipe...
