Beeps

Over the last week my car has been making beeping noises from around the fusebox area. Now at first, i thought it was me going crazy but it does actually happen.

Was out with a friend in the beeza tonight and ive figured out how to make it beep. If i go round a roundabout alittle too fast and the arse end starts to step out.....it beeps twice from the fusebox area. It also beeps once depending on how fast i go.


Now ive looked round the forum and i cannot find anyone with a similar issue

What do we think its is?

Is it a beep (like a horn) or more of a buzz (like an electrical short) kinda sound ?? Maybe Pedro fitted your car with a ESP (Espaniol stability control) which consists of a mouse in your fuse box and if you push the car too much and its about to slide then the mouse gets scared and beeps to warn you

It's also tapping like fcuk. Could be related?

i had a tapping before, it was a $hite plug lead. the tapping was it arking out

My golf had this but was more like a big buzz as the ex found out when it started one nite in the dark screaming at him,thought it was low on oil so chucked some in,noise carried on chucked in more for multiple reasons,he's not normally useless with cars but managed to flood everything with oil basically n cost me lotsa pounds to put right.Was all down to the oil pump had seized,hence the alarm kicking in,only over 2000rpm tho i think....how does something that's covered in oil seize?????
Read something on a thread the other day about beeps,will see if can find it again but prob irrelevant..............

Its turns out that yes, i was dangerously low on oil.

Is this a standard thing on the ABF that went in the Ibiza's and the Golfs or just the Golf?

If its the latter, something tells me mines had a engine change at some point in its life!

Probably one of those things you don't know you've got til it kicks in.....never had a clue with mine!!! if oil was dangerously low why was it not buzzing all the time rather than just round corners when it obviously dropped below sensor level or whatever.....
Can't see anything in the Haynes about it...

Possibaly because as im turning a corner, all the oil is moving to one end of the sump (if there is hardly any in it).

Ive never heard it either. And my oil never seems to get dirty either. Maybe its the car lol.

It definitely beeps when low on oil - i noticed going round a roundabout a few months back. I got a oil light as well though.
