Best products to wax Silver Tsi,

Can anyone recommend the best wax product to make a silver leon look amazing? or if not wax any other products or steps that add shine to the paint work>? not talking 8 hour jobs or anything extreme but im always up for putting a good shift in to make it look good!

2 hours approx to do lasts 4-7 months easy.

Wash - AG Shampoo/Bodywork Conditioner
Rinse
Clay Bar - Meguiars Clay Kit
Wash again then dry
AG Super Resin Polish
AG High Definition Wax

Well worth the effort and lasts for months. Once done, just a regular wash with shampoo keeps it tip-top. Occasionally use AG Instant Show Shine for that extra bling.

I would agree with Redemption

I am a bit OCD when it comes to polishing and waxing (well my gf and neighbours think so )

With Silver there is an early limit to what you can achieve when it comes to creating depth, but gloss and that shimmer are easier to achieve.

You can spend hundreds on different polishes and waxes (I’ve tried most of them lol), but the differences are marginal especially IMO with Silver.

If it were me I would probably: (all the following available from Halfords)

Wash - with a decent shampoo - AG Bodywork Shampoo or one of the Megs
Clay - (probably most important step) Megs Smooth Clay Kit

You could then polish and then wax, to be honest on Silver I would go for an all in one as Redemption says AG Super Resin Polish or Megs NXT2 – I think the NXT is slightly better on Silver.

Could then top with the AG High Definition Wax or even something like Simoniz Diamond Hard Wax – these will give extra protection but probably not add too much to the finish (AG HD Wax circa £40, Simoniz £4.50 – I’d get the Simoniz I have used this last week and the water beading is as good as the HD IMO).

Good luck with it – don’t forget Claying is the Key!

NXT2 is technicaly not a wax , its more of a polish that fills.

Hard waxes last the longest , but some are are a pain to buff of , i use moosewax liquid , very good stuff , although its not a product you can build layers of . but hard waxes are made to build up layers so give longer lasting and staying power.

For the wet gloss look i use moosewax glaze , apply this after polishing , will give a lovely wet look shine , then just apply wax on top.

but as someone has already said , preperation is key , to do your car properly put aside a good 6-8 hours and dont forget do not wash ; polish or wax the car in direct sunlight , if your car has been out in the sun all day and is hot to the touch , wait for it to cool down before starting.

Supagard SupaWheels alloy wheel cleaner
SupaGard Supawheels alloy wheel protector
SupaGard Tyre and Trim dressing
AutoGlym Super Ressin Polish

First start with good paintwork preparation as how car will look depends on this I will go for paintwork correction followed by Cquartz protection great stuff just have look on Youtube

- Two bucket wash
- Tardis to remove tar spots
- clay bar
- paintwork correction using Gtechniq P1
- Cquartz

Have used several AG products over the years however, if your paint has very few swirls and is not in need of fillers to mask the swirl marks, I cannot speak highly enough of werkstat acrylic jett trigger. Before using it you use werkstat prime to cleanse the paint before applying the acrylic sealant. This is not a wax but a paint sealant. It is so easy to apply and wipe off. Build up several layers and it beads water for months.

As for the other replies regarding tar removal and clay bars without question this is a must. Check out polished bliss website for info and guides to detailing - well worth a visit!
