Hi

Sorry, I know this has been asked before.
I am wanting to add a way of connecting up an iPad to the Stereo on my Leon. It is a Mk2 pre-facelift model with the standard stereo. There is an aux 3.5mm input but that would not give to functionality I'm after, really want it to integrate with the stereo controls and if possible the steering wheel controls. I do not have the optional iPad connectivity (with the docking bay under the drivers seat) fitted in my car.

(note don't need the new lightning connector just the old 30 pin version)

Spoke to Seat about it and they said they could sell me a cable (about £90) which looks like it would give the same functionality as the optional iPod kit that was not fitted.

Has anybody done this?
Is this the best way to do it?

I've seen other threads where people have fitted OEM headunits. Not against doing that, but if so would really like as many of the steering wheel controls to work as possible. I also have the bluetooth car kit fitted and whatever solution I put in I don't want to lost this - its just to handy.

So has anybody fitted an OEM headunit but kept the bluetooth functionality working? If so was it easy? What controls kept working?

Or should I just fit the cable from SEAT?

Any advice please - thanks :)

Andy

I've seen it done with a nexus 7 has a cradle instead of the double din!

That would be pretty cool as you could run Torque on the Nexus and get it to read stats from a Bluetooth ODBII connector..................

Cheers for pointing me at the Dension's, worth looking at - used an x-link cable in my old Leon to do this.
