I have just noticed that on my 2012 FR that one of the bulbs has blow, not main beam but dipped bulb has gone.

Is it easy to replace yourself if I get a bulb from the dealers or should I just take it to the dealers to do?

Also I thought the bulb warning light is meant to come up on the dash when bulb blows but it hasn't on ours, is this correct?

Also which bulb do I need for the dipped bulb? I believe the FR is twin bulb?

Dip is easy enough to change - remove cover - unplug connector - unclip bulb - remove old bulb - replace new bulb ( make sure the little tab locates correctly ) - reclip bulb - plug connector back in - test bulb - replace rear cover.

Bulb is a H7

There's several bulbs in the h7 range. Do any of you.know which one is in the Ibiza that seat use so I can buy one today to match the bulb thats currently working?

H7 bulbs are just a standard bulb. You'll find different manufacturers make different types to give better light etc but they are still all going to be H7.

I'd replace both sides as you usually find when one blows the other follows closely behind!

I got a pair of H7 bulbs at Lidl for £4.99 - they said +50% brighter on the box and they are as bright as any expensive makes I have got previously. They say made in Germany and I liked them enough to fit them to the mains as well, and buy a spare pair. Result.

Also had a headlight bulb go this week and was a little confused as to why the bulb warning light didn't appear on the dash. Having looked at the owners manual it apparently doesn't come on either if a brake light goes....starting to seem like a pretty pointless system if thats the case.

If you look through VCDS menu's - there are various settings - unless every warning was ticked at the factory - you won't get the warning for every bulb.

TBH - i'm going to switch mine off completely and carry a spare bulb kit. ( I am asured that you can't get a ticket if you have spare bulbs with you and offer to fix it )
I check my lights often enough just like I do on the motorbike.
