When I reverse only the left side is working and not the right. When I tried changing the bulbs I realised the lights on the right were completely different to the ones on the left.

how does it work? When I removed the bulb on the right, the left one also stopped working.

the bulb on the left seems to be a fog light bulb.

The Leon mk 3 only has one reverse light fitted - left side in UK right hand drive, right side for left hand drive cars. The equivalent light on the right(right hand drive) /left (left hand drive) is the single rear fog light, which is a totally different type of bulb to the reverse light on the other side

I'm so sorry but I did laugh when I read your post. I still have people telling me that one of my reversing lights is not working and I have to explain that I only have one.

If you only have a standard reversing bulb, and LED one really helps. This is what I got:

This is pre-facelift. The facelift models have a different connector.

Same, I bought these which are the brightest I have come across so far. Search for "hyperflash" on Aliexpress

When I was indicating left to pull into my drive in my Mk 3.5 Cupra a neighbour told me my left hand daytime running light had failed... :)

Not sure they do....I changed the reverse light in my 64 plate pre facelift for LED, and swapped back to the standard bulb when I sold the car. Changed the prefacelift for a 19 plate facelift, and the reverse light bulb was exactly the same, and installed exactly like for like

It was something I read on a previous post when I changed to LED a few years ago. I can't find that specific thread but this one also recommends a bulb with the newer spade connector, so they must exist somewhere.

I have no idea what the cut-off is/was for the change of connector.
