We sell a lot of the new Philips Extreme Vison 100%+ bulbs. They have been getting very good write ups in Autoexpress etc. Not cheap at £25-£30 a pair but a lot of people seem to like them !

Those bulbs are nothing special. Go for a branded bulb, look at back issues of Autocar and Autoexpress as they always have proper bulb reviews.

I would NOT suggest 100w bulbs as the Leon lens casings are plastic and you may get the lens cover too hot. Also most cars wiring is not up to accepting 100w bulbs !

Also there is no actual thing as HID bulbs ! This is pure marketing. The only proper HID bulbs are the gas discharge type. Also most normal bulbs are described as 'xenon' as this is the gas they are filled with !!!

toyo sport in birmingham got the best exzon lights for my cupra r..... cost me £35 full kit...

Yeh Osram Nightbreakers are getting good reviews too - the Motorbike versions sell very well.

When I pick up my new FR CR in a couple of weeks I'm going to try some of the new Philips bulbs (as I don't have to pay for them !!) and will post up my findings. Been used to an A4 cabriolet with factory xenons and a 2006 Yamaha R1 with HID projectors !!! So going back to halogen will be hard ! Think I'll buy some genuine factory bi-xenon units for the end of the summer !!!!

The lights on my 2010 FR are crap. Simply lacks distance so thes Philips Extreme Vison sound interesting.

What type of bulbs are in the FR ie h4 h1

If you go on autobulbs direct website it tells you there. Though you can probably get the bulbs cheaper on ebay, i know i did.

They won't be H4, they will probably be H7 and H1, but as I haven't got mine yet I can't tell you !

The Philips Extreme 100%+ vision get really good reviews, they aren't cheap, but are fully road legal and E-marked, and really good quality

Google "auto express bulb review 2010" and have a look at the top winners !

Yes the Phillips win

Dip beam = H7
Main Beam = H1

So people recon 100w H1s will be too hot?

I don't understand why people would want 100w main beam bulbs. You don't drive around with the main beam on all the time, seems a bit of a waste of money really. Also 100w bulbs are illegal for road use.

Well compared to the young pretenders they are 1/3 price and yes I know there are not road legal.

As for using main beam, don't know about you but I enjoy spiited driving at night, they are a must

Having had a seach on this forum the concensus is 100w bulbs may damage the units and now one is sure about the wiring so will opt for the LEGAL :p Phillips or Osrams
