Thought I'd get some pictures up of my car, I've owned her a few weeks now and really enjoying it. In the first week of owning it I went and got a major service done at AmD for peace of mind. It had a few issues which I'll be sorting soon. Front brakes were warped, rear discs needed replacing, front tyres needed replacing, top mounts need replacing and a couple of other small things. Could've been a lot worse but still pretty costly things to have to change. I was aware of the tyres but the front brakes came as a bit of a surprise as they were squealing so I assumed they needed copper grease but sadly not.

Since then my rear washer decided to pop off, so I went into the rear quarter and saw that the pipe had disconnected, so reconnected that and tried it again. Once again no water, so I open the bootlid and this time a load of screenwash comes out the bootlid so I then had to go in there (just my luck.) While doing the bootlid I was a complete idiot and managed to scratch it on my garage door. I'm a perfectionist and this really, really annoyed me so I'll have to get that sorted soon!

I had 4 Uniroyal RainSport2's fitted, (the joys of 18" tyre prices!) I've also ordered discs and pads all round along with some high temp fluid from Badger5 which I'll be getting fitted this week.

I was wanting to get it lowered, but as you can probably see from the pictures below I live on an unmade road which has already started to test the splitter so I think it's going to have to stay at standard ride height.

Anyway, I thought I'd put some pictures up to show you guys, I'm into car detailing and the car will be getting a good going over either tomorrow or next weekend so I'll get some pictures for you all then too.

My previous car was a 200bhp Toyota Starlet Glanza V, it was my pride and joy and I just had it as a evening/weekend car and loved it. I had always said if I got offered a certain amount I'd be willing to part with it and one day someone offered me that so off it went.

Good to see another platinum grey LCR Looks nice mate. I'm in the same situation, would love to lower mine but I don't think it would work with all the speed bumps round here. You got anything else planned? Remap?

The glanza looks nice mate, they're cool little cars. I know someone who had one stripped etc inside and that went like stink.

In a bit of a crap financial situation at the moment, had to pay out over double what I earn this month on things I totally didn't expect to be buying.

Definitely going to be remapping in the near future at AmD and most probably going for a Milltek system. While the Glanza was too noisy for my liking I would like to have a bit more sound coming out when really booting it.

Hoping to get a full weekend of detailing it next weekend so that's the next thing on my list, if it counts!

I got mapped at AMD on thursday mate, and am loving it. I went from 231bhp/225lbft to the figures in my sig with stage 1. Got a milltek sports cat on there with a jetex cone filter and forge 007P DV. They are doing a deal on remap+milltek system at the moment too.

My milltek isn't too loud but when give it beans it makes a nice noise, and when I take my foot off after fullboost it pops a bit too which is nice.

Looks in good condition too which is good to see. Has the leon lettering been taken off the bootlid?

How comes you were making 231 to begin with? Did you already have mods beforehand?

I would be straight down there if I didn't have my financial situation to get both of them, believe me!

It's in great condition, front wing has had a respray at some point which has left a slight line but other than that it seems spot on. I managed to cause a scratch in the bootlid the other day which I hate myself for, it was entirely down to my own stupidity.

The lettering has been removed and it has the shorter aerial and a different rear wiper. Other than that I'm pretty sure it's as it left the factory!

Got round to refurbing my Brembo's at the weekend, I was really impressed with how much better they look. Was a pretty easy job and well worth doing since they looked a right state before. Here's how they look now:

Also managed to get the car detailed properly, spent about 18 hours altogether. Sadly my camera wasn't working at the time I did it so I couldn't get any decent pics. Did give the car a clean today though and added another layer of wax. I live down an unmade road which is just 100% dust this time of year which makes it impossible to keep clean.

Your car looks lovely buddy; I think platinum is one of the better colours (sshhh...). For the year, it looks in great condition and the alloy wheel pictured looks unmarked. How did the scratch on the boot respond to a mop with something like Scratch-X? Too deep to be salvaged? I caught my jack handle of the corner of my door a few years back, and felt sick for days....

From experience, it's frustrating when unforeseen maintenance costs spirel but it's so worth it. These cars drive like dreams. I'm really happy with the quality of the drive after some seven years of ownership.

Hopefully there will be no further expense in the months ahead, which will allow you to get back on track; keep us updated

Thanks for the nice response mate, I know there's not much to look at with my car in comparison to some of them on here but I do try my best to keep it looking as nice as possible.

I'm very picky, and the alloys aren't up to the standard I'd like. The previous owner was the type that only cleaned the outside of the wheel but I like to get properly inside it. Also appears that either Seat's wheel paint is absolutely terrible or they've had a bit of a shoddy respray at some point. They just don't come out with any shine and there appears to be brake dust embedded into the laquer. I will be getting them refurbished when the money comes along, I'm just completely undecided as to which colour I'd like them!

The scratch on the boot has gone beyond the laquer sadly, and it carried two smaller scratches with it that my Dual-Action polisher couldn't even get a touch on even with a rather abrasive polish. Absolutely gutting but it could be a lot, lot worse so I have to look on it as a positive and then look at the best way of repairing it further down the line.

Now that all the maintenance stuff has been done, (just a couple of small bits that need doing now like the top mounts) I'm really chuffed. It does drive really nicely like you say, and it's a lovely comfortable car at the same time. I'm a bit sad that I can't lower it because of my road, the splitter has already become a casualty several times and I need to invest in a new one. Live and learn though, I just need to take it a bit more carefully on the road!
