Hello all,
I have not been around for a while so have a long over due update.
Over the last few months I have been pretty busy with the car, trying to get it close to that stage 2+ tune.

I have been carbon skinning some engine bay parts in real carbon fibre. I think I picked it up pretty quickly. The parts I have done so far are, engine cover, carbon canister cover and air intake scoop. My future plans is to do the battery cover, fuse box cover and build a carbon fibre under tray type thing to fix to the underside of the bonnet seeing as seat didn't finish painting it.

I have tried a new forge electronic dumpvalve and works very well, I'm happy with it.

I fitted my large unbranded/ths type front mounted intercooler and cts discharge pipe. I noticed a nice power gain straight away, car is still running a stock map but last dyno'd at 275bhp, feels even stronger now. Straight forward fit, direct replacement. Little trim on the silicone hoses was needed.

My best mod so far, fitting a gas bonnet strut, why these were not fitted from factory is beyond me.

My long awaited triple r composite splitter arrived, along with a genuine btcc rear spoiler and side skirts, sadly the skirts have some damage so undergoing a PayPal dispute.

Tomorrow me and rick will be fitting some ap coilovers, much needed for the look I'm going for.

My wheels will be up forsale in the coming weeks as a new set of bola b1 are on the way, 7 week wait is over and should be here on Tuesday. Really excited about these. By far my favourite looking wheel on the market.

I think that pretty much concludes the updates, apart from I joined in the aks group buy for a uprated helix clutch but have no idea when that's due to arrive.

Last piece to the puzzle is a hpfp, most probably looking to buy the loba kit. Very good reviews.

Today, we fitted the ap coilovers. After owning these on the Mk1, I can honestly say they are a much nicer, quality kit for the mk2 chassis. Ride quality is very smooth and not harsh at all.
Just letting them settle and then can see exactly how I want to set them up. So far I'm very pleased :)

Not many replies since the 2 updates lol

Anyway i managed to finish fitting my spoiler, along with go faster stripes :p

Tape was removed today. My family wagon is starting to look a little mean, this is the look that im after, just like the mk1.

I think the spoiler really sets the car of nicely.

Today my bola b1 alloys arrived. After nearly 2 months wait i can safely say it was worth it.
Top quality

I have coated the wheels in gtechniq wheel armour already, i love this stuff.

Some nice concave

Thanks for reading.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if I should keep the ch-r and have them as a winter wheel or sell them and buy a hpfp. Decisions

Nice upgrades. The engine cover looks the part.

Really keen on seeing what the wheels look like. I'd love a set of them in white on mine but the poke on the rears puts me right off. There the same as the ones jake had on his I think, that's if you go for 9.5" rears.

Yeah Jake ran 8.5 on the front, 9.5 on the rear. I settled for 8.5 all round. What impressed me was the amount of concave for et40. My xxr had no way near this amount, 8.75 on et44.

8.5" all round will look spot on then. I agree about the concave as well, there's a lot considering the width. They usually have to be 9" and over to pull the look off.

That's a bit of a bold claim, the ones jake had were pretty deep but not as deep as his rears. They still look great tho.

Only going by what the guy at bola told me ;)

Interesting. Did you mill the fronts. Ps your k1/lcr rear bumper looked ace.

Ok so tonight I managed to get the triple r composite front splitter fitted, thanks to the help of my partner. It's the first time she has ever helped out.

Really love the look but not sure how long it will last, I raised the car a little too. Hopefully this will help.

No the backs are machined, iirc the wheel comes in a 45-35 et and they can mill it to what you want.

I believe mine to be et40. Will have to offer them up tomorrow.

That looks sweet!! When are the bola's going on

I could get them on maybe Friday afternoon but go on holiday for a week on Monday to torquay. Probably best if I fit them when I get back.

The splitter looks so good on these. My cars lower than yours bud and it clears 99% of speed bumps and never has any issues with multi stories so you'll be fine.

Can't wait to see what the wheels will look like fitted.

I think your rears just say that wee bit to far out for my liking. Could they mill them further to sit flush with the arch of was that the limit they could remove???
