I've got wiring components coming out of my ears here, got all I need to sort the wiring and even connect the fog lights... just waiting for a spot of good weather and time to tackle it.

Yeah, worth millions to every numpty like me that thought converting to twin reflector headlamps was a good idea!

I sit here and think "oh why did I bother" but when I go out and just look at the front end of the car, it dawns on me just how much better it looks.

haha makes it sound VERY interesting

and dodgy

It is interesting, although it gives you a sore head trying to think of how it all comes together

Haha, It should be ok when its done... Just a case of you getting out and trying it now! :p

Only ordered them on the 26th, I don't expect them to come for a little while yet. I'm hoping the right ones turn up because the seller asked me a few questions after I bought them, and now won't respond to me!

I went for the Model 3 version in his description, as they are more like the ones you find on FRs and Cupras.

They better had be the right ones otherwise I'll get really angry considering how long I have to wait for them!

Right, I've sorted the dipped/main beam issue with the twin reflector lights. :D

The problem was that the dipped beam would go out when you turned the main beam on. This is an MOT fail, if noticed.

The fix is basically explained in the picture below. I've fitted a relay in the circuit that provides the dipped beam with power when the main beam is on.

The above picture doesn't show the relay itself which is tucked neatly away underneath the headlamp so it cannot be seen when you lift the bonnet.

The picture below also shows the permanent live which has been run from the battery, directly to the relay.

Took about 90mins to do from start to finish, but that includes rummaging around for the correct tools etc.

The end result is:

I've also taken one of the covers off the back of the driver's side headlamp to try and dry it out, as it has condensated up quite badly in the pictures.

Thanks Mick, appreciated the time and effort you put into thinking of solutions.

Here's a picture of all the beams to show they all work properly.

Dipped beam only

Main beam and dipped together

(excuse the dodgy looking Dad poking his head out of the car! LOL)

And finally, when main beam is being flashed without dipped beam being in ON position (the fact the sidelights aren't on is the giveaway!)
