Right, I've sorted the dipped/main beam issue with the twin reflector lights.
The problem was that the dipped beam would go out when you turned the main beam on. This is an MOT fail, if noticed.
The fix is basically explained in the picture below. I've fitted a relay in the circuit that provides the dipped beam with power when the main beam is on.

The above picture doesn't show the relay itself which is tucked neatly away underneath the headlamp so it cannot be seen when you lift the bonnet.
The picture below also shows the permanent live which has been run from the battery, directly to the relay.

Took about 90mins to do from start to finish, but that includes rummaging around for the correct tools etc.
The end result is:

I've also taken one of the covers off the back of the driver's side headlamp to try and dry it out, as it has condensated up quite badly in the pictures.

You just need a 4 pin headlight relay mate, doesn't matter what car it's out of, the actual relay I used was a Vauxhall one. The beauty of using a relay is it saves the headlight switch from burning out, which is something to consider when a new one from the dealer costs nearly £50!aha! i knew id seen it covered somewhere. right then, now to the point. could you be good enough to tell me what sort of relay i need for this as ive got my mot coming up & this is amongst the jobs to do before it. im not very good when it comes to electrics but im going to brave it & have a go i think![]()

Cheers mate, yeah I can honestly say it is now a lot more comfortable, I've yet to do a particularly long journey since fitting them, but the height adjustment has allowed me to sit lower and I think now I sit straighter in the car, not crouched and bent over the wheel if that makes any sense at allby the way i think your car is looking very well, that interior has made one hell of an improvement if it was anything like mine inside. i get backache if im in it longer that an hour lol

Yeah go for it mate! Took me a while to find these though... searching for SEAT seats is an absolute ball ache and a half, eBay doesn't know the difference between a SEAT and a seat.haha think i'll have a gander in that case!

but found myself hitting my head on the roof... doesn't happen now thankfully
lol i also though about cupra bumpers once. but yet again. it couldn't pull the skin off of rice pudding so why make it look fast. i am going to still go for the rear bumper though but just because i love the look of it. the anthracite bit will be going black though to match what ive done with the front. it wouldnt have that front bumper on though if it wasnt for someone driving into it & cracking the old one. i do prefer it though

My old ones just didn't have it all, the new ones have it on both front seats... double winI have height adjust on my old seat! New ones have it on passenger as well! I had to switch the compartment from old seat though!
It's already a nice little motor! Although it would be even nicer with those mods!yeah it will look a lot better when its got an a*se like this though.
ill be happy with it then. that & the interior & it will be a nice little motor.![]()
Corrected for younah just standard facelift sport ones.

Corrected for youI've got to bull them up a little bit haven't I?
Cheers for the comments Lawrie![]()
May have just sold themI'll let you off this time lol. I must admit, a huge improvement from the grey!
Yeah that's an old picture that mate, I've drilled the covers behind the light now so it's not a problem. They don't really condensate up these days, only if it's really heavy rain all day or somethingIf you're having problems with condensation turn your headlights on and cover the lens with a teeshirt and they should dry out, be very careful you dont burn the inside of the lens though!
