I have a 2001 Leon Cupra with a i presume "round" remote key fob. This morning it stopped working... They red LED light did not flash. So i just thought it would be a new battery. So bought a new one and still has not made a difference.
I have checked the contacts inside are touching but still nothing.
Key in door unlocks fine and car starts.
Any idea's? - This is the only key with the car by the way

Worth just getting another key fob off ebay and programming it?

is the battery plate solders on the board ok >?

the patches the key tags press onto are they clean ?

Dont worry. Mate has just sorted it. Contacts were dirty and loose. Cheers for quick replies

I have this exact problem, but can't get anywhere with it. I am looking at the contact points now and it doesn't seem to help. Will keep trying though. I presume syncing the key won't do anything if I can't get the light to work?

I am ecstatic ! Haha. My mate just fixed it. The longer strip of metal wasn't actually touching the battery for some reason... It looked like it was but wasn't. He just bent the metal so that it touched and VOILA. The key worked and now unlocks and locks the car !
